Characteristics of the Faculty Education
Teachers and the Environment
The teaching staff of the faculty come from a wide range of universities, nationalities, and specialties, much wider than most universities in Japan.
The newest PC’s and software programs are available to the students. The technical staff and the senior students help the students to learn how to use PC's.
Departments and Courses
There are two Departments in the Faculty of Economics: Department of Economics and Department of Industrial Economics. Department of Economics offers three courses, while Department of Industrial Economics two courses.

Departments of Economics
Economic Theory
To learn theories and how to apply them to understand and possibly solve the real economic problems.
Applied Economics
To learn how to understand and solve more specific economic problems such as those relate to finance, money, international trade, labor, by applying theories.
Social Economics
To learn how to theorize the observed phenomena to a theory in an inductive way. Emphasis is laid on space and time in constructing a model. Students are supposed to acquire a broad range of knowledge as well as language ability.
Departments of Industrial Economics
Industrial System
To learn how to join a social system and manage it. Students are supposed to acquire the ability of project planning and of strategic decision-making. Students are supposed to acquire a high ability of problem-finding and solving.
Social System Analysis
To learn how to analyze social phenomena in the spheres of firms and/or governments with a focus on information obtained from data, making much use of computers. Mathematical models and statistical analyses are employed.
Where the Alumni Work
The alumni have entered every filed of employment: commerce, finance, insurance, manufacturing, services including local and the central governments. In terms of regions, they are not only in Fukuoka / Kyushu but also all over Japan, and naturally abroad.
